Meet Billy Hartman

Everyone’s story starts with where they grew up, what street, what neighborhhood, what church, etc, etc.  homes aren’t just four walls, homes are where our stories begin.

For me, that was 67 years ago in a home on Oak Forest Drive.  My mom’s delivery Doctor was Dr. Durham.  This area has been my home and my neighborhood and will continue to be.  I went to elementary school at Oak Forest, Wainwright, and Sinclair.  Started my junior high years at Black Junior High and then was zoned to Hamilton Junior where I had some of my Mom’s same teachers.  I graduated from Waltrip High School in 1974, with a graduating class of close to 800 students, and a streaker at our Commencement.  Just a sign of the times, I guess.  And then attended the University of Houston, Go Coogs!!
